FIA Card Services, Online "Balance transfer SNAFU".incompetent and preditory customer service reps

I have a credit card with Bank of America and requested they do a balance transfer on three other credit cards with less than $1,000 balances so I could pay them off and take advantage of B of A lower interest rate.

The accounts to be sent payoff money were identified with account numbers, names, addresses, etc.

Bank of America transferred funds correctly to only one out of the three accounts. They sent nothing to one account and sent two payments to another account. This caused a late charge on the one account which is how I found out the snafu happened.

When I contacted them, all I got was the run around and out of frustration trying to work with their incompetent reps, I contacted the Comptroller of the Currency, Administrator of National Banks to explain what B of A had done and to have them contact B of A to straighten their snafu out immediately.

It took a number of phone calls, a lengthy report to the Comptroller, and two months to get back to normal on all three accounts and B of A.

The problem with B of A can only be explained by incompetence of their customer service personnel.

Needless to say the B of A account will be paid off and closed in the very near future and "good riddance".
