I have sent $900 directly from my OWN checking account with Bank of America tomy OWN credit card account at the very same Bank of America. This transaction should occur instantaneously, as it happens within the same person accounts and the money balance in the checking account allows for the payment to occur.
However, 24 hours later my credit card is still blocked, although my checking account has been charged the (supposedly) transferred value.
It turns out that Bank Of America is holding the funds for 7 to 10 working days before reactivating my credit card.
Because I have recently moved to the US and have no credit history, I had to secure a certain amount in order for them to give me a credit card. Every time my expenses approach this value, almost instantaneously every further payment gets rejected and the credit card becomes unusable until I pay my expenses back. Which makes sense, If it wouldn't take them 7-10 days to process the my own transfer.
In summary, I have locked down money to get a credit card at BOA, additionally Bank of America takes 7-10 business days to process money transfer within my own accounts and reactivate my credit card, BUT it takes them less than an hour to scale the transferred money down from my checking account.
How much time value of my money am I actually loosing because of BOA?
However I look at it, I feel like I'm being cheated.
