My husband and I got a loan through CPS a little over a year ago. We made our payments but they were late a lot due to the pay schedule and when they wanted their payment. I tried numerous times to get them to change the due date so we wouldn't be late and they would not do it. Finally in the last few months I have been sick in and out of the hospital, lost my job and my grandmother. Needless to say we ended up a month behind. Now this company calls you from one day late until they either get your bank information or you make the payment. They are rude and nasty. They do not discuss anything with you rationally. They call you names and everything else. They call anybody that you have as a reference and devaulge all your information, which is against the privacy act. Well tonight we had Mrs. Johnson call us. I explain my situation to her and she say well lets make arrangements just make sure you keep them. No problem I say. I think everything is fine. Five minutes later the phone rings. It is CPS yet again. This time Mr Silver is on the line and he tells us that he is not accepting the arrangements we made. He said he is mrs johnsons supervisor and he is overiding everything. He wants the payment now or come Monday they are coming to get the car. I said fine come and get it because you cant have the payment because I don't have it right now. He begins to degrade my husband asking him what kind of Man he is that he doesn't keep his financial obligations and what not. I get back on the phone with him and explain yet again our situation and that we have no problem making a payment on the 28th but we can not do it any sooner. He says that is not acceptable and why is it that my husband got paid 4 times but the company did not. I explain to him that I have to choose between a roof over my kids head, food in their bellies, electricity to warm them and water to bathe them over the car. It is just the way things are right now. He proceeds to tell me that it is inconsiderate of us to use the car to make money and not send them money in return. I explain that when we have the money they will get it, but being rude and not working with us is not going to get the money any sooner. See we made the mistake of listening to their threats before and barrowed the money to make the payment. Now they think they can just threaten us. My husband finally says to the man where do you want me to take the car, the man then says to my husband if he takes it anywhere he will lose his liscence. What the heck? I have never heard of such BS. I finally ask him have you ever been in a finicial bind? He very rudly says I have a piece of wood in my office and everytime some one asks me that I knock on it when I tell them no. I said well good, you come get the car and I hope to God you lose your job tommorrow so you know what it is like mr perfect. I then hang up on him. Not even a minute later the phone rings. I says I am done talking and hang up again. Again the phone rings I say do not call again. Again the phone rings and I say this is harrassment and if need be I will get a lawyer the man then says to me oh you can afford a lawyer but you can't make your payment. I said ever heard of pro bono. He says God dont like ugly and you are an ugly person. Excuse me. Do not insult me as a person because your scare tactics don't work on me. I say I have another car through Summit Finicial a company that acutally cares about their customers. So now instead of makeing the payment on the car through CPS I will just double the payments on the other car. I am also going to write them a certified letter stating everyday the car sits in my drive way I am charging them a $25 dollar storage fee. Then I will enforce it. If you get a loan and the finance company is CPS run as quickly as you can. They are jerks no matter the situation.
