Ripoff repossessed car even after arrangements were made to pay up to keep the vehicle

In the fall of my husband and I were harrassed for late payments that resulted from major health problems and numerous hospitalizations. Ford Motor Credit had been informed of the situation although they claim otherwise. They began to call not only us, but also my parents, my sister, and my husband's ex-wife (and to this day we don't know how or where they got her number!). Whenever we tried to contact the main person, Kathy Collins, we were always told that she was busy, not in, etc. She wouldn't return our calls and days later, she'd start the harrassment again. Since we both worked in places where it was difficult to receive and make phone calls, messages had to be left for us.

When we were finally able to make arrangements with another representative to get the payments caught by that particular Friday, my husband was called and told in so many words that he had 1 hr. To make the payment. When he said it was difficult to do that and most of that time was taken up in the phone conversation, he was told that it would only take 15 minutes to wire the money... Do they stop to think that he had to leave his job, drive to the bank to get cash (where he probably would not have been the only person requiring service) and then have the money wired... That takes time!

Well, before anything could be done, some supervisor person got on the phone and told him there was a mistake, he could not make a payment and he had made arrangements with the wrong person. He was then told someone would be there to pick up the car!

The way I see it, why did the rep even make arrangements if his arrangements were no good and couldn't be honored. He should have said he couldn't make arrangements and we needed to talk to Ms Collins or whomever could authorize it.

As far as I'm concerned this was a big ripoff! If you're willing to find a way to work things out, the company should honor that. A person needs a vehicle and one cannot help financial problems due to health issues. I hope those Ford people never have a serious problem where they need someone to be kind and have mercy on them!!
