Got a pukey sweet "we'll do you a big favor" "settlement opportunity" letter claiming that although i "owe" $237.93 on an account MCM purchased from Old Navy, they will do me the fine favor of settling this for $142.76, if I pay up NOW.
Thing is, I have not had any business with Old Navy since 8/23/06, when I paid them $27, have a zero balance, and have had no activity on any account with them since then. I called the Old Navy folks and told them about the letter I got, and asked them to contact MCM, too, as this does not put Old Navy in a good light.
Called MCM, they hire vicious rabid pit bulls to perform "customer service". Just call them for fun sometime! Got nowhere, and they did not get my SS number, no way! They did try. Told them i was onto the scam here, they said "GO AHEAD, CALL the ATTORNEY GENERAL!"
I sent letters to the AG's in Washington state, where I live, Pennsylvania and San Diego, as well as the Better Business Bureau, The Federal Trade Commission, Old Navy and MCM.
I hope everyone who suffers from this insidious, blatant thievery gets together for a class action law suit.
The chunk of monkey excrement that owns this company is no doubt relaxing on a nice yacht someplace, spending your money like there is no financial collapse coming. If you stole a pack of gum, you can bet YOUR ass would be in jail, why isn't "Brandon Black" in jail? Can a corporation go to jail? Isn't stealing against the law? Isn't ruining someone's credit akin to slander, defamation of character?
Are you not sick of this insanity? Look at how many people are being ripped off here!
Write letters to the AG's in your states, find the addresses on the internet, same for Better Business Bureau and Federal trade Commission. Don't pay these bastards a penny, don't be fooled, call them and tell them that they are playing with fire. We are SICK and TIRED of it and we're not going to take it anymore!!
