Ok, I have hated banking with Wachovia for over a year. I've just been too lazy to get a new account. They have repeatedly charged me overdraft fees like everyone else-one time I had called in and had placed a block on a company that kept charging me. The next month, that company was able to charge me, which caused an overdraft fee of course. Wachovia (even though they admitted that it was their fault and they understood the problem) refused to refund the overdraft fee because I had already reached my 1 "courtesy" refund. What a load of crap-if it's your fault-it's not a COURTESY-it's a CORRECTION!

My most recent one, and one I think everyone needs to know about, is what happens if you bank with Wachovia and become a victim of identity theft. Recently, I lost (or it got stolen) my debit card and someone used it to withdraw my money and deposit bad checks and withdraw that money. That caused me to be hit with a -$4,407 balance. I reported the incident and was told to file a police report and sign and affidavit.

My case investigator, Marcia Green, was extremely rude to me and accused me of giving someone at the mall my debit card to use and run up this horrible balance because I'm a college student and there have been reports of this going on in my neighborhood. First-I am not a college student-I work a full time job, just like her and I just moved into my neighborhood a few months ago. Identity theft happens EVERYWHERE and to ANYONE. She refuses to take my case seriously and keeps "warning" me that they are investigating my case. I was told that I am supposed to get my moneys returned to me in 10 days after filing. It's been almost a month and that bank has frozen my accounts and won't even give me access to my recent direct deposits.

I am getting desperate-I have no way to put gas in my car, I'm hungry because I can't afford food. Thanks to this website and someone's suggestion-I am going to file a complaint with www.helpwithmybank. Gov because this is taking way too long to get fixed and mostly because of Marcia Green's accusatory, inflammatory, and discriminatory comments and attitude.
