I have had several credit cards in the past but never been so mad at anyone like Capital One. I had a card ($900.00 limit) with them for close to 10 years and 2 yrs ago had a bit of a "financial crisis" so was behind in making the min. Pmts... Boy did that start a mess!!! My simple $15 min. Pmt ended up being about a $300 pmt. And after I arranged pmts and got it caught up, I find out my credit card is "temporarily restricted". I was told that the restriction would be removed when I paid my balance down to $200 or paid the balance off. When I finally did this and called to find out about the restriction being removed I was then told it was permanent and there was nothing they could do but I could certainly re-apply again... (are they kidding... NO WAY!!!) So, here I am several months later with this paid off ccard that I can't do anything with (and of course they don't automatically close the account) then today I get an email that my statement is ready? When I check it out I discover my account now has a balance of $29.00 with a $10 min pmt due... I have conveniently been charged the annual Capital One member fee of $29. I was sooo mad when I called them... What nerve to charge a member fee for a card that I can't even use!!! They told me this was what I "signed up for" and the account was still "open" (remember though I can't even use it). I demanded they close it immediately and remove the $29 charge... I better watch them and make sure it gets done!!! I feel like I've been totally mislead and conned by this company... Don't ever get a credit card with Capital One!!!
