This is ridiculous.
My wife and I have been renting a house from our mother in law for 3 years now, and all of the sudden GMAC sends a company out to "Winterize" the house and change all the locks on us.
When my mother in law contacted GMAC, they stated that she was behind on payments. When we dug further, we found out that it wasn't that she was not paying GMAC, it was that they were not taking the money out of her account.
We contacted GMAC to find out what the hell was going on, and they said that everytime they went to withdraw the money, they were informed the money was not in the account.
This is extremely funny, because my wife and I have been depositing the money directly into the account every month, so we know it is there. When we confronted GMAC with this, they then changed their story to "Well, the account is behind by 2 months." We attempted to work out a payment plan to get it current, which they refused. Then we all decided that most likely the best thing we could do was for my wife and I to assume the loan.
Apparently, it doesn't matter how good your credit is, GMAC doesn't like Assumptions. They refused us, telling us that our debt far outweighed our income (which is preposterous). They then proceeded to give us a ton of b.S. That made our heads spin so badly we decided it wasn't worth trying.
We contacted them again earlier last month and attempted once again to work out a payment plan with them, which they once again refused even though we told them we had the CASH MONEY to bring the account current as well as pay the Lawyer fees.
Now, apparently we have pissed them off, because they didn't even attempt to take the money for the mortgage payment out of the account, and instead decided to forclose on the home.
I hope these bastards get what is coming to them very soon, because now my wife and I and our 3 year old are on the streets due to these greedy sons-of-bxxxxxs.
