Read the fine print and don't believe the hype!
I refuse to get ripped off, this is an account of how I handle some of my junk mail. A great many of us these days are hurting for cash and we are all looking for ways to lower interest on our debts, don't get suckered. There are even more cunning creeps running around now to take what little we have.
I was sent a 'First National Card 1' in the mail today with a guaranteed line of credit for $6500.00 at zero interest, wow! It just sounded too good to be true. The first thing I noticed was that there was no Visa or Mastercard logo on the card, huh? So how am I supposed to use this thing? I briefly looked over everything on the nomenclature sent with the card, there was mention of mandatory automatic deduction from my checking account (no way!) and 'catalog shopping'from CCA's exclusive line of 'fine merchandise'yikes, (it pays to squint and read!).
The next thing I did right away was look up CCA on the Internet, I found a dead link that said they were not taking applications at this time, hmmm, fishy because most credit companies want to build as large a 'base' of customers as possible to make money. Then I found this site and read about how others have been taken for thousands of dollars all because they trusted CCA with their checking account number. Never ever give out you're checking account number, always purchase and send out a money order if you trust someone with you're cash.
The universal law of 'If it sounds too good to be true, it is', always applies every single time, no exceptions! Don't get ripped off, read the fine print and double investigate everyone who wants to give you money, there is always a catch. My money is my life, it is my heat in the winter, my food my shelter.
My hope is that the people who operate CCA Credit Services and other scams like them are dragged out into the light and exposed as the stealers of life and ruiners of lives that they are.
