This company called me recently, to say that I owed them for a Credit card that I have never heard of. I had heard of Alliance One before because I had settled a debt with them in the past. I believe that is where they got my name and phone number.
The woman was supposed to send me a copy of the charges but of course that has not happened. She told me that this debt had been sold 4 times and it was going to be sold again if I did not settle it with her that day. I would not give her my banking info, and she tried to get me to give her "a family member or a friend" I have heard too many times what happens with those incidents.
Well, I see that she called again and talked to my husband. They are trying to put my husband against me thinking that he will pay off this debt. I have listened to Dave Ramsey enough to know that these companies are not honest. I commented to the woman that she just wanted her commission off the payoff. She told me that was wrong but that I had to pay it now.
I spoke to my local sheriff about a situation like this before and he said that without paperwork showing the debt there was no legal cause for payment.
