Cannot cancel, we gave yours to charity!

I was visited by Kirby salesmen only 7 months after we had purchased our vacuum from them. They had a new improved model, that as far as I could tell did pretty much the same things, just nicer looking. I went ahead and signed up for the new model. Everything was fine until...

I changed my mind about three days later. According to the contract, I had about 15 days to cancel and get my old model back. I sent in the paperwork to have the contract reversed, and they sent it back! Then when I tried to send it back to them, they claimed that I hadn't sent it on time.

I sent it back in the original envelope with the first postmark still on it and they accused me of self-stamping it with a postmark from a town in another state! After talking to them until I was blue in the face, they still refused to let me cancel the contract. The manager told me that they gave my old vacuum away to charity after the first three days!

That vacuum costs me over $1500! So someone got a great deal on it, but it wasn't me! They wouldn't repay me for my vacuum or let me out of paying for the new one. I requested that they come pick up the new one and just forget the whole thing, but they wouldn't do that because the manager said the warranty had started when I signed the contract.

Then, the salesman was crazy enough to come back to my house requesting money, he told us the warranty didn't start until after we make the first payment. He also said not to bother trying to get a lawyer because the owner of the company was filthy rich and would just win anyway!

Apparently, there is no way to win with these people. They will lie and cheat you out of your hard-earned money no matter how hard you fight them. I had the payments taken out of my account but they try to take it out every day for a week before the due date so that I rack up hundreds of dollars in overdraft fees.
