This company has been around for a long time; changing their name thru the years but still the same offer of $10,000.00 of "credit" for a mere $37.00 that is "refundable" with your first purchase from their "Member's Catalogue".
Through the years, they have updated and changed some of their requirements for membership; for example: now their membership "OFFER" HAS AN EXPIRATION DATE; "Full deatils of membership and it's exclusive benefits will be included with with your new Platinum Card."
It's a limited time offer and " all deadlines are final". It seems that through the years they have "learned" to "clean up" their methods of separating people from their $ 37.00. No confirming infotmation is ever even asked for, such as SSN; DOB or any other information that might confirm your identity or credit-worthiness.
If one is in financial distress this might sound like a God-send if the forms are read over quickly and with trust. One soesn't stop to ask questions or look for answers to commonly asked questions when receiving a "legitimate" credit card application.
It's such a shame that these kind of rip-offs are allowed by the authorities; people living on the financial "edge" looking for a way out of their worries.
But this promise of $10,000.00 worth of credit only applies to a limited selection of items they offer in their catalogue. Cash withdrawals are never mentioned nor are any other features offered by a traditional "credit card". PLEASE, people don't allow yourself to be taken in; read things carefully AND then RE-READ it again!!! If the law doesn't protect us then we have to look out for ourselves!
