I received the standard offer from Union Workers Credit Services for a $10,000 pre-approved Platinum card. With these types of offers, while on the surface they seem to be a "rip off, " in fact they are carefully worded and very easy to mistake for something completely different.
As others have mentioned, first note that you must mail a payment of $37.00. This is not typical for credit card offers.
Second, note that while the names Visa and Mastercard appear in the offer, it never states that you will receive either card.in fact, the offer repeatedly states that you will receive a "Platinum Card Membership."
Finally, in the proverbial fine print it states, "Credit amount referenced herein shall not be construed to function as any type of multi-purpose credit card and is exclusively applicable for credit purchases from UWCS."
Basically that says, you ain't getting a credit card. Just the privilege of buying 10,000 bucks worth of our crap. If you want 10,000 bucks worth of their crap, then this is your golden opportunity. Otherwise, use it to start your grill.
