Several months ago this 'debt collector' offered me a settlement on an old debt they had apparently purchased. This settlement amount, if accepted, would require me to pay a portion of the full amount to a credit card company, Embrace, at which time I would receive a credit card. After paying the settlement amount, the remainder of the balance would be marked as paid.
Jefferson Capital Systems still shows as an active 'debt collector' on my credit report with no mention that my account has been settled. They keep hitting my credit report, and keep sending me letters by mail, referencing my 'debt' to them.
I have attempted to contact them, but can find no telephone number at which to do so.
