My advice to everyone who is able to do this, transfer your note to another bank. It will at least get you away from Vanderbilt and the monopoly they have created. That is what we did and now we have a much better interest rate and nicer people to deal with. I have read several of the complaints on here and one thing I notice being repeated over and over is how uncaring the people at Vanderbilt are. They sucker people into buying one of their homes and then it seems they do everything they can to ruin peoples lives. I know that everyone is responsible for making their payments in a timely fashion, but sometimes things happen unexpectedly and you just need someone to be understanding (to a point). I work for the government and I hear peoples excuses as to why they can't do what they are supposed to. Sometimes they are lying, sometimes not, but usually if you are willing to work with them everything will get resolved in the long run. I wish Vanderbilt would take a more "customer-friendly" approach instead of trying to force families out of their homes by being rude, deceptive and menacing. Thankfully, I have not had those kind of problems. I consider myself lucky to get away from Vanderbilt when I did. Good luck to all who are having problems with them.
