Went to my local branch today to try and straighten out a CC mess (on a no interest for 12 month Visa). Branch manager was on the phone to card services (I assume) who informed him (& myself) of the problem (the good news is that both of us think this is downright screwy).
It seems there is a 5 day window in which to pay the bill. Bills paid before are credited to the previous month; bills paid after, are late. Looking over my account, it seems I paid one too early (thus, no payment the next month since the two paid payments went on the same month). I was advised to move the payment date. I did; which resulted in being one day late with the payment (as the 5 day window moves depending on the number of days in the month or maybe the moon cycle who the hell really knows!)
I was told (last month) that if I rushed right down to the local branch and paid $174 to bring account current, then all this would be straightened out. Although skeptical, I complied. Imagine my surprise this month to find I am again in arrears. Seems like the $174 was really not a payment, the late charge wasnt taken off until after the next payment, and, (since there was a late charge added on) I was $39 short on my payment. And (you really gotta love this) If I would rush right down to the local branch and pay $121 (they gave me all day to do this how %^&^%!!! Generous) then everything would be just hunky-dory in Wells Fargo land.
Ugh. Forgive me for the profanity but BULLSH*. I aint falling for this again scooter! When they screw up my credit... I'm going to find a rabid lawyer! (I've got all my receipts)
