Wells Fargo has charged me late fees for paying my Mor furniture credit line early! I have an automatic payment sent by my bank on the 1st of the month. My payment cycle at WF goes from the 3rd to the 28th of the month. So if I'm unlucky and the planets are aligned just right, my payment will be credited before midnight on the 3rd. Then, low and behold, I get a late fee because my payment has been credited to the month before. Then when ever I make my next payment it just goes to the previous month because my account is now considered "late". Thus starting a cycle of late payment fees.

It doesn't seem to matter that this is a credit line that has a specific payment due every month or that they can look in their records and see that I made the payment. All that customer service would do for me is tell me to make my payment later in the month. Duh. I got that part. You see I was the one who figured out the problem and called.

So I finally got through to a supervisor who would credit two late charges. But, I happened to call during that "grey period" between the end of one payment cycle and the beginning of the next. This means that I will get charged another late fee. You see, my payment for March cleared on the 3rd (before midnight), so it was credited to my February bill. So they say that they haven't received a payment for March... Today is April 1st and this is no joke because I can not make a payment for March now.

They refuse to credit the impending late fee for March. I was told that they can only credit two late fees although they made the mistake three times. I understand that you should check your statements and if you let it go then you should take some of the blame. But, I have been trying to get through on the phone for the last few weeks, and this fee hasn't even been charged yet. But, still they refuse to do anything about it. I was told the only way to make my account current is if I make a double payment in April.

Basically, I have to make a double payment and still pay a late fee... All because I was trying to do the right thing and pay my bill at the beginning of the payment cycle every month. I figure they go after people like me because they know we will pay.
