On Sept. 9th I made an ATM deposit for $106. On the 20th they took the $106 back out of my account. I had to call Bank of America to find out what was happening.
I called up and told the person the situation. They transfered me to the claims department. I talked to someone in that department and they said they never found the envelope so they had to take the money back out.
It is not my fault that they can't find the envelope. So why should they take my money back out in the first place? They went ahead and put the money back into my account temporarily until they find out what their conclusion is. But anyway they go they are still going to put the money in my account for sure. I will not tollerate this BS.
I've worked in the restaurant business as a waiter over 15 years. I count money to and from people all the time. I make tips and make atleast two ATM deposits a week. EVERY TIME I make a deposit I will count my money at least two to three time to make sure I didn't miscount before I put the money in the ATM.
One, if this transaction didn't occur how did it show up on my account in the first place. And two, being disabled and not having a car or drivers license I had a friend drive me to the ATM. Why would I have a friend do that for no reason what so ever? And if I were to do it for no reason why wouldn't it be for a greater amount of money?
But, since this has happened I've been pissed-off. I've talked to more than a few different people. One person told me they made an ATM deposit for $274 and they only accredited his account with $174. But, he didn't do anything about that. Another said he made a $20 ATM deposit that dissapeared. The bank said that they didn't find the envelope. And he never got his money. My manager said he made an ATM deposit with BofA and his money disappeared so he changed over to Chase Bank and said it is much better.
Before this issue happened I was at a restaurant and heard someone talk about a Wells Fargo account. I mentioned to them they might want to try Bank of America because they have the keep the change program. He told me there was one time he made a deposit with four one-hundred dollar bills. They credited his accout with $4. And told him he only deposited four one dollar bills.
What should be my compensation for going through this in the first place? It was their mistake not mine. But, then again, maybe it was my mistake to have a Bank of America acount. It was an inconvienence to not have my money available for a few days on their part. I don't know what they are going to say next yet. It has been a lot of time I had to waist for their screw up.
