As many on this board, I've, too, been repeatedly hit with late fees because they take 8-21 days to post payments. When I started investigating this, even my bank of 20 years was shocked.
I zeroed out the CO account and closed it in June. Yet they insist payments are late and I've been hit repeatedly with outrageous late fees. Every payment of even these rediculous fees was always on time.
I'm now taking action with either the California AG's office and the Dept. Of Finance (dfi.ca. Gov/) - by supplying them with my bank statements and Credit One statements - and would encourage others to do so.
In short, I want those fees refunded and any credit report errors corrected.
My experience with organizations like this is that you finally get their attention - and often a written apology with your check - when a state's attorney general starts poking around their books demanding answers.
