Would be interested in bringing a class action suit against Bank Of America.in the last few months they have charged me $1400 in overdraft fees. What they will do and I got this from a rep when I went in to speak with them is if you have a large bill come in after a bunch of small charges they will actually move the big bill in front. So instead of paying one overdraft fee for the big bill they will charge you for all the those little bills you had money in your account to cover.
As I have stated they have done this numerous times in the last few months and today I find out that they rejected a payment I made to the power company as a deposit. The reason behind this is that they held a check I deposited. So even though they show I have the funds in my account they are still rejecting the charge that came in later but not others, I had a $200 check go through fine.
They gave me no reason for holding the check and this is not the first payroll check I have deposited nor was it the largest. Now I have to come up with a way to keep my power on since the bank will not release my money until after 5pm today and the power company closes at 5pm today and will not reopen until Monday.
So I will have a charge from them as well since the check was returned. I am actually having to sell my home or face foreclosure in part because of all the excess fees they have charged over the last few months. I also have had to sell belongings this week because they would not release my payroll funds for 3 business days. This is the one that they gave no explanation for holding especially when in Feb I deposited a larger check from my company and it was not held.
Please contact me if you are a lawyer interested as i know i am not the first nor will i be last person this has happened to.
