Dishonest billing and bad business practices ripoff

I have a Chase credit card that had a balance of $6,021.00 Every month on their website I pay the mimium due. I had unforunately ticked the wrong box and sent a payment for the full amount which of course was rejected.

I called Chase and told them what had happened. I was told that I could pay the minium due over the phone and they would waive the "over the phone" charge. But then I was asked if I was going to pay the "over credit" amount of $5,021.00. I asked what was that because of my last statement I had several hundred dollars left to be used and I had not used it for sometime.

I was then told that because my payment of $6,021.00 had been returned they reduced my credit limit to $1,000 and therefore I had a $5,021.00 over limit which they were now going to charge me a over limit fee each month until paid off.

I asked them if I had been a good customer and they said yes and never late. I asked them how can they put me into a over limit position and charge me for doing so. They said read the fine print in our disclosures. That is highway robbery.
