I have a major compliant about Chase, I have a credit card through them. Let's just say I have a credit Limit of $300.00 but owe them $928.84, and NO this isn't what i charged.
How this happened is I went online and checked the automated phone system to see what I had charged on the card, I paid the account in full and let it be for a while. When an emergency arised I needed to pull out cash, knowing I made a full payment and the balance was zero I pulled out 280.00. Everything was fine until I received my statement saying I went over the limit, and was charged an over the limit fee of $39.00.
Of course the over the limit fee really did put me "over the limit". I tried to resolve the problem but got nowhere. I did not pay the "minumum due" as I was in the process of fighting the charge and did not agree with it.
So I paid what my minmum payment used to be as I felt this was fair. Well they didn't like that, since I wan't paying the minimum of over $150 (outrageous) they decided to start tacking not only over the limit fees of $39.00, but late fees in the amount of $39.00 too. Even though I was paying on time! It just wasn't the amount they wanted.
Now I sit here, still trying to dispute this and negotiate with them and nothing is working.
I now have a balance due of $928.84, and going up every month, since $78.00 in fees is added every statement. The minimum payment on this is now up to $744.84!!
The fees continue, and I continue to call, e-mail, write letters and get no where...
To say the least I a very frustrated and upset. I figure my credit is probably already affected by this so why pay them at all?
Any suggestions or insight would be greatly appreciated.
I am trying to be a good person and pay in a timely matter, and try to work out a deal with them... But there is no interest in this on their end.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
