Capitol One
Ripoff not reporting positive credit to credit bureaus virginia

Obtained Capitol One credit card to rebuild credit. Had the account for over five years. Account remained in positive status. Examined credit reports with all three bureaus to discover that positive credit was not being reported. Found out that this is a tactic of Capitol One to keep other credit card companies from soliciting Capitol One customers, thus, consumers are in essence stuck with Capitol One's terms and conditions. Have written and called Capitol One, all of which is documented concerning this matter. Have been told my Capitol One managers that the account was being reported, when in fact it was not. I have even faxed letters from the credit bureaus that stated that account was not be reported, Capitol One denied it still.

Finally reported Capitol One to the Better Business Bureau, received a letter from Capitol One stating that the account was being reported, in fact to Experian Business accounts. Called Capitol One about this, was told because I opened account under the name of my business, using my social security number, not tax number, that my account was being reported to Experian only, under business accounts. Faxed letter to Capitol One from Experian that stated that Experian had NO information on my account. Asked Experian to call Capitol One about my account to have it reported to the bureau, Experian stated that they can not make Capitol One report the information.

I have contact Capitol One no less than six times concerning this, faxed the Experian letter to no avail. As of 5/27/07, still not reported to any of the three credit bureaus. It extremely important that this positive account be reported, it will cause my credit score to go up. I asked Capitol One why this account was not be reported to the other two bureaus, they told me that they only report it to one bureau - Experian. Asked Capitol One, if the payment was made late, where would the late payment be reported - Capitol One replied: to all three bureaus. This is so unfair. If anyone would like to join me in a class action suit, please contact me. I am still pissed off at Capitol One.By the way, it is a well known tactic that Capitol One purposely misreports accounts to credit bureaus to isolate their customers from receiving credit offers.
