Asset Acceptance is trying to charge me $8200.00 for a $5100.00 debt! The credit card was cancelled in 1999 with an unpaid balance of $5100.00. Now they want $8200.00 for my debt!
When I looked at my credit report they have it as my credit account was opened in 2004. How is that possible when I closed the account in 1999?!
I thought you were only responsible to pay what you owed, not twice as much! The credit card company said that they charged it off in 2000. So why does Asset Acceptance say that I owe $3000.00 more?
These people seriously need to be investigated! They are very dishonest! I don't understand how what they are doing could legal!?
