I've dealt with Allied Interstate before when the harassed my mother over a $60,4 year old debt that turned out to be completely bogus. So, when they called me last week, I already knew how sleazy they are.
They called about a my last cell phone bill from the cell company I just left last month. I had not even received the last bill from the company yet. They have called me 5 times a day since the first conversation. Each time they literally scream at me about me trying to avoid my debt. I had a 10 minute ridiculous argument with them when I tried to get an address to mail them a letter requesting they not call me anymore. I never got that address from them.
Today, I finally got a letter from Allied Interstate. However, I also got my final bill from the original cell phone company. It does reflect a past due balance (one month) and a early-termination fee. I'm just wondering who to pay now, the cell company or A.I.
Personally, I do not trust Allied Interstate one bit, and I will never give them any money over the phone. But I know that paying the cell phone company directly will not make A.I. Go away. What do I do about them, besides write them a do not call me letter, and ask for a proof of debt.
