After 20 years of working hard and nearing retirement, my home of 20 years is being stolen as I sit helplessly by and watch. Right now, I don't know what to do, and which way to turn, but I feel that I have been victimized by Ameriquest when refinancing in 2001. I signed forms that were blank, and other things because I was desperate after a divorce (my home was in foreclosure).
They tricked me into taking a mortgage rate that has gone from 9 percent to 12 percent while I am still in bankruptcy. I just found out that this will continue every 6 months until it reaches 15.5 percent in about 2-3 years. I filed bankruptcy four years ago and have now discovered that my credit is worse than when I first filed and I am in worse shape ever with my mortgage threatening foreclosure even before I receive notice that I am discharged!
Ameriquest has sold my mortgage to AMC and they are moving to foreclose in a matter of days. I just don't have a clue as to how someone can be in bankruptcy one day and in foreclosure roughly 1 day later. This whole mess is a scam, the mortgage refinancing and the chapter 13 bankruptcy. Honest hard working people are virtually helpless if their credit is considered bad. I have given up. Everyone is taking me for a ride, with Ameriquest in the driver's seat.
