Will the outrages of Ameriquest Mortgage in California ever end? I posted here a while back about our experience with Ameriquest Mortgage and our discovery that the Los Angeles Law Firm of Engstrom Lipscomb & Lack are going after Ameriquest for people in California who may have been charged excessive fees if they financed or refinanced after 2002. Perhaps they can help those of you in California who used Ameriquest after 2002.
Here's the update on us. We went to a local mortgage firm to try to figure out a refinance (getting out of our current mortgage with Ameriquest) and whatever we did, all of a sudden Ameriquest loan people are calling us about 10 times a day saying "oh please dont finance with someone else".
Has this happened to anyone else? According to our broker they must have a computer program that tells their sales folks whenever someone calls in for a pay-off of their Ameriquest Mortgage. My husband told the last guy, "sure we will refinance with you again if you will refund all the overcharges for the last three years". Can't imagine why but the loan guy told us that Ameriquest would never overcharge anyone, and then said thank you and goodbye. Go figure.
