After many frustrating months of trying to comply with all the errors Wells Fargo threw at us and had even refused a payment because it was not in certified funds and the agreement did not read it had to be certified funds and they had not ever refused a personal check before.
After refusing this payment and throwing us into foreclosure my husband talked with them and they calculated a payment that he had to make western union. He paid that and even called them with the transaction number. Days later we get a 'formal' letter of foreclosure.
When my husband called to find out what was going on because he had gone and made the payment they told him at first that there was no record of any payment received and then after much discusssion they 'found' where this paymt. Had been made but said it wasn't the correct amount.
My husband told them it was the amount Mrs. Owens calculated and gave him verbally to pay. After much research they admitted there was a miscalculation but this annuled our agreement, there was nothing they could do about it. Again another forebearance agreement had to be negotiated.
We were very frustrated and did not feel we could continue this financial soga and contacted a company that buys real estate and they made an offer to Wells Fargo to buy our home on a 'short sale'. W.F. Claimed they requested 2 documents that they never received, so in a nutshell because our loan was a federally insured loan (HUD) W.F. Sold it at foreclosure back to HUD rather than accept an offer to buy our home.
We found out from the company trying to buy our home the 'day of the foreclosure' what had happened. W.F. Never told us they were waiting on additional documents from the company trying to buy our home and this company claims they faxed these documents several times to the fax that had been given them.
Regardless our home was sold at foreclosure and basically what we were told was "well somebody let some things fall through the cracks". We were misinformed, uninformed and totally shocked.
