We have been receiving calls from National Action Financial since the beginning of March. The first time I called them back they stated they had mailed a letter to us informing us of the debt. We have yet to receive this letter. They told me they could not give me any information on the debt because I was the spouse (state law they said). Funny no other company has ever stated that. Thay call everyday.
I finally was tired of it and called back and talked to a girl who gave me the info. Lo and behold they are collecting on a debt that we paid in November. I explained this to them and also told them I was recording the conversation. I told them how they were commiting fraud and I was reporting them to our State Attorney General. That's why we never received a letter from them. It would be proof of them commiting fraud. Of course they claim they sent us a letter and what they are doing is legal. Thay also tried to get me to give them my husbands SSN. Denied!
We had some old debts that we paid off last year and these fraud companies have been coming out of the woodwork. You think you are doing a good thing and whammo you are being harassed. It really makes me mad because the legitimate agenicies are the one who put out our info. And these legitimate agencies should be mad that false companies are taking their money.
My advice. Record all conversations with these companies. If you do pay off a debt request the company keep it under wraps or you won't pay. COntact your attorney general. You can receive compensation from this company. If you have a debt that's not paid it will be on you credit report. If it's not then don't worry about it. But stay ahead of these companies. Make sure they're not putting anything on your credit report.
