No matter how desperate you are, do not do business with Chase, it's parent corp, or any affiliated business.
I had a small credit card with them which I used for eBay. Believe it or not, Chase took it upon themselves to change me to "online billing." In this world of spam and phishing, this would be a real mistake. I certainly never wanted this or agreed to this. When I discovered this, I called customer service. Guess where they are—India. These people were not able to even speak English other than reading a script.
The result? I tried and tried to close my account. It took me three months. And now I see that Chase attached a derogatory statement to my credit.
I highly recommend that every person on this planet close their Chase account. Look at this:
