I had a credit card with Capitol One. The credit card debt got sent over to N.C.O. Financial services. They offered me a settlement in the amount of 191.85. So I sent them a check which they received on 10-28.
They cashed the check on 10/30. I had to file a report with you guys against N.C.O. Financial services on 4/8. N.C.O. Financial services gave me a settlement letter after I proved that I payed them and settled.
I called Capitol One in 2003 and they had me fax over the letter which I did and they said that they were sorry for the mix up and they said my balance was all set.
Today I get my credit report and Capitol one is still on it. I called them up and they told me I owe them a balance of $786.00 This amount is ridiculous The credit limit was only $500.00 I am looking for the settlement paper, but so far no luck. Is there anything else I can do?
Capitol One is very money hungry company and they know I owe them nothing. I settled three years ago. It just seems a little funny that when I had the settlement paper in hand I owed them nothing and they were so sorry and today I owe them more money than the balance.
This is affecting my credit score. I am going to try to go to the media and who ever else will listen!!! People do not ever have a Capitol One account. They are corrupt liars.
