Allied Mutual Brokers
Allied mutual brokers, total rip-off

Let me start off by saying how heart breaking it is to see that I wasn't the only one who got scamed. I feel for those who have suffered the same consequences I have suffered. I also feel for those who are barely finding out they got scamed.

I had applied for a loan online with Allied Mutual Brokers towards the end of August. On Wednesday, Aug. 31 I received a call from a person named Meridith Stevens. She said that I had been approved for a loan in the amount of $10,000.in order to secure the loan I had choose from one of three options. The options were as follows: A - Pay Standard Insurance Plan in the amount of $1008.16. B - Pay Premium Insurance Plan in the amount of $2432,00. C - Get a co - signer with a credit score of 750.

Well, I had chosen B - Pay Premium Insurance Plan. They told me to send the amount of $1008.16 by Western Union. On Thursday, Sept. 1, I had sent the money to Gloria Arlington in Halifax, Novascothia, Canada. With Western Union fees the total amount I paid was $1,079.00.

I then faxed over all of my personal information which included my pay check stubs, voided check, copy of my id, copy of receipt from Westen Union, and signed agreement documents they had sent me through e-mail.

After faxing over all required documents I was told that I would receive my money in 24 business day hours. Since this was done on Labor day weekend I figured that funds would be delayed for the following week. Assuming that I should have had the funds in my account by Wednesday, Sept. 7, I contacted them. I was assured
that I would receive the funds in my account by Wednesday evening; that never happened. I called the following day (Thursday, Sept. 8) spoke with Meridith and she said that there was a problem with my account. She said I had to speak with her manager Ronald Manbridge because it was out of her department to furthur assist me.

I attempted to contact Ronald several times and all I got was a voicemail. Since I wanted to speak to him directly I kept insisting. An hour later I finally spoke with him. He said that I needed to pay for the Premium insurance plan instead of the standard plan. When I heard this I was outraged. I didn't understand why this was happening. I told him I had already signed the contract and it was agreed for the standard plan. He apologized for the inconvenience and said I was still approved for the $10,000.in order for me to receive it I had to send the difference of the insurance plan for the amount of $1424. If I didn't want to send that amount I could request a refund for the amount that I had already sent, including the Western Union fees. He said the refund would take 2 - 3 weeks. This request was made on Friday, Sept. 8.

It is now Tuesday, Oct. 4. I found out about this official scam today before I started typing this statement. I was stupid enough to be with the illusion of getting my money back, until today. I wish this website would have been avaliable to me before doing this. I thank those who have pleaded their case for me to read. Thanks to you I can finally accept what has happened to me and move foward. This is a hard lesson learned. Thank you for taking the time to read my case.
