I applied for a personal loan online. I was contacted by Dennis Matthews of Household Financial Corp. That I would be able to get a $5,000.00 loan.
At that time she faxed me the loan contract to fill our and fax back along with a copy of my latest paystub, drivers license, and social security card. I was also told that I would need to send them and "insurance" amount due to my low credit rating. The amount would be $750.00 by Western Union, in total, $808.99.
On July 21, I sent the money by Western Union and was told that I would receive my funds in my account in 24-48 hours. After 48 hours and no funds, I called the company. I was then told that they would look into it. They called me back and said that I needed the wire information for my bank. After obtaining that I was told it would take another 48 hours to get my funds.
Another 48 hours, no money. I called the company and was told they would look into it. After 24 hours, I called them only to get an answering machine. They finally called me back. I was told that their funding department was holding the money because Dennise Matthews misquoted me the "insurance" amount and I would need to give them another $600.00, or I could request a refund.
I was told to fax in my request to the "accounting dept" to request my money back and it would take 7-10 business days to get a check in the mail. I faxed in my request on 7-31. I faxed in my request, the Western Union receipt of the money that was sent to them, the loan agreement that was not honored. After 10 days no check. I then faxed and called the company again.
This time, when I tried to call the company I kept getting the answering service. I called around 50-60 times and no one has returned my calls yet. I also refaxed my request in 50-60 times asking that someone call me to let me know that my request had been received. No one has called me yet, I still do not have MY money back and still no one will return my calls.
Although it may not seen like a lot of money, it is to me.By not getting the debt consoladation loan I am now more financially in the wringer. My credit score is lower and I may even have to file bankruptcy. That was the reason for my loan, was to get my finances where I could successfully have one payment a month. Now, I can barely pay my rent or car note or even the simple things in life.
I simply want my money back.
