We had to go into backrupcy about two years ago. Even with my husband losing his job and getting another one we were able to pay off all of our debtors except for one. Homecomings.
When our case was about to close, I had called Homecomings to find out when they wanted us to start making payments to them and found out that they considered us six months past due even though the Trustee's office stated differently.
We had to halt the closing of our case and found that Homecomings had never cashed any of the checks that the Trustee's office had sent them. Now we have found out after almost a year of trying to get everything straight that they have added on their lawyer's fees for *their* mistake.
So after a two year fight of trying to keep our home, we have decided to let Homecomings have it. They have risen our interest to a point that what we owe is more than what we agreed on when we first purchased our home so getting refinanced is pretty much out of the question.
Homecomings is a big corporatation out to steal as much as they can to make a profit. They have only taken time to find out how much more they can screw us. We are now looking for an apartment and not really feeling too much regret about leaving our home. We hate it for our children but other than that nothing more. The struggle of keeping our home has soured all feelings whenever we come home.
