Here is yet another Homecomings Horror Story.
My husband and I had to file Bankruptcy due to his employer bankrupting and not paying travel expenses. Our Home loan with Homecomings was paid on time as were our vehicle loans. We were able to re affirm our vehicles, and Homecomings kept taking our checks.
3 months after the initial chapter 7 filing, we are served by Homecoming on a Foreclosure Hearing. How can this be? We had been making every payment.
In open court, The Homecomings attorney hands an envelope to our attorney and says to the Judge, "Now these clients are 3 (Yep 3) months in the arears and we demand the right to proceed in Foreclosure." In the envelope were the last 3 months worth of payments in the original dated envelopes.
Homecomings has refused to cash them. Two weeks later I receive copies from Homecomings of the ruling that they can and will start foreclosure. The next day, I receive a computer generated letter from Homecomings, stating that if I will pay 4 months of back payments, AND almost 2 thousand in late fees and "Other" fees, all will be forgiven.
The number provided for questions has gone into voice mail all 8 times I have called. I have yet to receive the return call I have requested.
As my husband and I have secured another home, Homecomings is about to become the proud owners of this one, and the 70,000.00 they Over appraised it at.
