I deposited 5,049.90 into my checking account on Monday August 15th and the bank charged me a 25.00 overdraft plus 2.00 transfer fee on the 23rd of August for a debit card purchase of 20.38. My statemnet shows that I had 4756.85 still in checking at the time of the overdraft charge. My aunt said the check I deposited from her had cleared her banking account the 17th of August. Bank refuses to refund the money as they said they put a hold on it for 7 days and would not release it until the 7 days were up no matter how soon it cleared. I had been told by the bank teller when I deposited it that it would be available no later then the following Monday which would be the 22nd. I can't afford to lose any money for whatever reason they trump up.
