UPDATE on our case with Ocwen. Ripoff

We are still trying to figure out how this happened.

We refinanced with New Century Mortgage and then our loan was sold to Ocwen. Sometime a few months later Ocwen said we were two months behind at the time the loan was serviced.

We filed bankruptcy a few weeks ago in order to save our home from foreclosure by Ocwen.in this process we were instructed by our lawyer to go our courthouse and ask for a copy of the front and back of the summons. (Which we never got.)

When we did we found that the address to which the summons was posted was not our address... It was posted at the wrong home! (If it was actually served at all.)

So now, to finalize the bankruptcy we sign a re-payment plan in which we pay back all Ocwen says we owe, which is approximately $25,000. We have also disputed the amount in the bankruptcy. Nevertheless, we have to file it as the current amount stands until more research can be done to find out why they say we owe so much when we were never behind to begin with. Only after they started denying our payments and put us off for so long did it become an issue.

And even to me, that still sounds absurdhow on earth can a bank foreclose if you are not behind. After all the research we've done, I now understand it holds trueyou can be on time, do things right and have your home foreclosed on without ever knowing. We found out because someone saw it listed in the legal section of the newspaper a few weeks ago. Chapter 13 was our only option in order to keep our home.

Reading all the reports and finding more and more victims, I still seem helpless. No one wants to help or listen. What can be done?
