In May of this year my husband and I decided to refinance our home. We searched for the best rate and Citibank agreed to a rate that we liked and locked it in. It is now November and although several times we have gotten close to closing - they even went as far as congratulating us and making an appointment for signing the papers - each time there was a last-minute surprise of "additional document needed". These documents are often unreasonable requests and make no sense. It is obvious that since the rates have gone up since May, Citibank no longer wants to honor their agreement and they are playing games hoping that we will give up on the refinance. This is unacceptable!
