Credit Card Scam! Ripoff!

I was contacted by Centurion Financial the thrid week in December. They offered me a credit card with a limit of up to 5000.00, no annual fee, not monthly charge, and no interest for 3 years. They said I would receive information in the mail within a week and that I would receive the cards within 10-14 days.

All of this authorized by a required 249.00 one time fee withdrawn off of my bank account. I told her I didn't have the money at the time and she called back a week later and as she explained it to me, I explained it to my husband and we gave her our information with the understanding that we would receive the information in the mail and get the card within 14 days.

On January 14 I started wondering what is going on. So I call the Bank, and they verified an amount of 249.00 having been withdrawn by Centurion Financial and I call the company and "finally" get a rep on the phone and ask them what is going on.

This lady "Ann" doesn't even have my home phone number, my name or anything else. She finally "acts" like she has something and I suppose did find some information on me and proceeds to tell me that it would be up to 24 business days before the card comes in. That a "business Packet" would come first.

Well, I feel a little nausiated about this time about all of this, and I get on the internet to look up the company and "Rip-Off" are the first words I see in reference to them.

I got on the phone immediately with my bank and am on my way over there this afternoon to file the Federal Reg. E dispute form.

Also, to let you all know, I called the Centurion Financial company back to ask them about these accusations and the operator-rep girl told me that people do these web sites about all companies... I started to get concerned and asked her to explain some things to me and she actually hung up on me. I called right back and had to redial several times before another rep came on the line and she was very assuring that all was well and that people get upset because when they receive the benefit packet the card is not with it and they think thats all they are getting. "Hog-wash"!

I couldn't afford the 249.00 at the time, but I certainly cannot afford to be ripped off of even one dollar.

I will be back to give a full report of the outcome, thank God for the internet, dnd the web site reporting this stuff and that my bank is being so helpful.

I am hoping this is not a costly lesson.
