I purchased Colonial's warranty for 2 homes. When I needed them 8 months into it, I found that none of our air conditioning companies wanted to work with them. It took them over 3 weeks in the first heat of summer to get someone out to look at my air conditioner.By the time they got someone there, the coolant had run out and the system was broken. When I called, it just was not as cool as it should have been, but it was working. They did not cover it because the coolant was supposedly leaking from the reverse valve, which they did not cover. Funny, the reverse valve is a major part to the unit. It was a secondary problem to that valve, so no coverage. The fact that it was not completely broken when I called them 3 weeks earlier did not matter. I never could get hold of any managers. I emailed, and mailed, and never heard back. So $7000 later, I have new air conditioning. The ONLY warranty company I would ever go with again is American Home Shield. They have their little quirks, and do not fully cover, but they do a great job, and they do have service companies that will work for them and show up right way.
