New Rules for Virtual Account Numbers

This morning I logged into my desktop Virtual Account Number app and got the "Delivery Options" window.
I called customer support and she said it's a new security feature. As she explained, before I can generate a virtual account number, I have to receive a phone call, copy down an identification code (up to 10 alpha - numeric characters) and then type it into the app before I can get a virtual number. AND the ID number is only good for 10 days.
In my opinion this isn't a good policy nor is it a good security feature. It;s a bad policy because it's a PITA for virtual account users; it puts the burden on the user (you customers). It;s a bad security move since, because of the hassle involved, people will be more likely NOT to use virtual account numbers. This will make online transactions LESS secure since REAL numbers will be used.
I've been with CitiCard since the early 1990's and use virtual account numbers for all online transactions. If you continue with this misguided policy, it will be reason enough for me to look for another card.
