My original mortgage was for $54,900 in June. They have threatened to foreclose, failed to credit payments, refused a payment, and now the principal balance is $58,464 - how is it possible, even with reasonable late fees to have only paid $1500 on principal in three and a half years? The class action settlement was a joke - I got $52 for over $1200 in fees that were illegally charged to me. I've gotten no report from them indicating what fees were backed off as part of the settlement. They are charging me $2923.24 for attorney's fees, $3,339.25 in interest for 3 late payments (one of which they returned). I was scammed into taking this mortgage by a mortgage broker and now can't even sell the house - I'd need to clear $68,884, 45 just to get out of the house, and that's never going to happen.
