In June I took out a mortgage loan with Fairbanks Capital Corp. As a widow I had some problems keeping my mortgage payments up-to-date and fell behind on several different occasions. The fees and late payments were exorbitant. It seemed that I was being penalized for everything I did. I did receive a check for $239.90 reimbursement for late fees paid, but I had paid over $2000.00 in late fees. Sometimes, my checks should have been there way before the late fee date, but Fairbanks didn't apply them in a timely manner.
Fairbanks Capital Corporation became Select Portfolio Servicing and has continued in the very same manner. My interest rate has increased now to 10.5% which is well over the National average. It has increased every six months since the onset of the loan.
I have paid for the payoff and plan to refinance with a local finance company.
