Fairbanks purchased our mortgage about a year and half ago. Since the beginning we have been constantly called about fees that we had no idea existed.
In 11/02 our home was put into foreclosure. We went and borrowed over $3000 to take care of our late mortgage payments plus around $1500 in late fees. We were told that we were current except for around $1000 left in fees. I never could get a definitive answer as to what the fees were for. Since that time I have been sending an extra $100 with my payments.
Tonight, I just received another phone call stating that I owe over $4800 in late fees. And that over $3600 are attorney fees and that interest is being added from that amount.
I also was told that my house payment had increased over $200 per month. I have not been notified of this. I have never had an escrow account. They so informed me that I have an escrow account now and that is why my mortgage payment has increased. I have until December to pay all of the late fees. And I will continue to have late fees charged until this amount is paid.
These people are unbelievable. I am tired of dealing with them.
