In the check-out line this evening, the customers in front of me had an issue with a mis-priced item. The cashier called for a manager, and waited about 8-10minutes with no manager in site. She (the cashier) took matters into her own hands, knowing that she's not suppose to leave her register, but was clearly under duress from the pressure of wating. She and the customers wife when to do the price check themselves. I was stuck with all my items on the belt, along with another customer waiting behind me. The cashier returned after being gone about another 5 mins, STILL NO MANAGER! She then left the register AGAIN to FIND A MANAGER! Came back with approval to give the customer the posted price (which was WRONGLY POSTED) only to find out that her registered had timed out and have to re-check their entire order a g a i n! Still no manager!!! I became outraged that this poor cashier had NO MANAGEMENT TO HELP HER!!! Other cashiers were trying to help her, but policy forbids them to over-ride a price with a managers approval, but what is she suppose to do WHEN THE MANAGEMENT IS GONE AWOHL!
Another cashier walked up to give this shaken cashier, and didn't know what happened. Then management walked by< did not stop to talk to any of us in line< so i confronted her. She said, I kid you not, that she was TOO BUSY WITH HER OWN LINE OF CUSTOMERS! I asked if there was another manager, and she pointed to the other woman she was with and said she was on break. I said, "you had a cashier that needed help and not one of you bothered to help her!" The response, very pathetically was, "oh, sorry."
TOTAL TIME IN CHECK-OUT LINE: 30 MINUTES!!!
