I just got my DirecTV installed and everything went great until I found out that I didn't get the free HD DVR / Free HD Access upgrade as I requested. So I called DirecTV and I was told that I only requested the standard DVR receiver and if I wanted to upgrade that it will cost extra. I explained to the service rep. That I have the add in my hands and that it clearly shows that I can get the upgrade for FREE and said when I ordered their service I requested the free upgrade because that's what I wanted and that it is a no-brainer! I then was put on hold and after a couple of minutes was told that I can get the free receiver but I have to pay extra for the "Free" Access since I did not check and confirm the initial order confirmation as well as set up auto bill pay the day I placed the order. So now it is my fault that I didn't get what I ordered?! Neither did i receive an order confirmation email asking to check my order nor does it say any where that i need to set up auto bill pay before the installation appointment! I then was asked if I like sports in an attempt to get me off the subject and keep me happy since they also offer the NFL Sunday tickets. I told the rep that I've read and understand their small print and that it is all part of the package and it's for FREE as well! I switched from cable to DirecTV because I wanted to save money and get ALL the free extras. This is really a bad start and I am beginning to think that making the switch was a mistake!
