A Citimortgage representative made false claims about the value of property in our area, luring us into a complete waste-of-time mortgage refinance effort. Obviously (from later Citibank contact), it was in the hope of getting us to move all our banking and investment business to them whether the refinance went through or not. It did not, and we learned it had NEVER had even the slightest chance of going through.
The bank said that waiving all charges for the refinance process, which we should never have been in in the first place, was sufficient compensation. I requested payment for billable time lost from my business, and they refused to pay that either.
