I originally had a Direct Energy water heater, and a Reliance rep came to my door and said they worked for the company that bills me for gas (Enbridge). He said my water heater was over 10 years old and was going to be replaced for free (paid by the province).
What they did not tell me was that they were going to take over from the other company and then charge me more monthly, plus some random miscellaneous fees that I cannot figure out because I cannot get someone on the phone to explain them. They told me my monthly water heater and gas charges would go down, but guess what? They went up and up and up.
It is good that I am only renting this house, because I am never going to use Reliance again, and I suggest none of you do.
