I purchased a Pico home learning computer for my children two years ago. It is a creative learning machine that was sold in stores like Toys R Us.
I was finding it difficult to purchase cartridges for this machine and was told that they were revamping this product. I then called Sega Corp. and asked if they were still producing the computer and cartridges. I was told that new ones would be available this spring (1999). However, upon searching the web for this software, I discovered that Sega Corp., which produced Pico, had discontinued the product to make way for Dreamcast, which has a lot of technical problems and is being rushed into mass production this Christmas season.
I purposely asked Sega/Pico if they were discontinuing this product because I had just purchased the machine. If I had known this, a) I would not have waited this long for software, and b) I would have returned this product.
So I will never purchase another Sega product again. The same goes for numerous others I have contacted regarding this. My children are upset and so am I.
I hope Sega Dreamcast is a flop. It is just another Sony PlayStation. Do not give up your PlayStations.
