DirecTV is fraud. They mailed me an offer saying that if I switch to their services from Dish Network they would give me a super package, with no contract, with a DVR, and they said that if I was unsatisfied with the service I could cancel within 30 days.

I called DirecTV asking the reason I got a standard box instead of the DVR as the offer said, and they told me that I ordered the standard box. I asked why they took money from my credit card without letting me know, and they answered was that CS told me about the charges.

I called to cancel the service, I told them that I was unsatisfied with the system they provide, and they told me that that was not a good excuse to cancel the service, that if I want to cancel I should pay them $480 at front. I told the CS that I had 30 days to decide and she told me that not, I had 24 hrs to cancel. I called back and another CS said that I had 15 days to cancel with no extra charge, but she transferred me to the cancellations department. The CS in cancellations department told me that only some states have 15 days to cancel and my state was not one of them. I explained that I do not like their system because I have a disability and it is hard for me to push several bottoms to get to one channel, but they told me that my disability was not an excuse to cancel, that I need to pay $480 at front to cancel.

After reading your postings, I am afraid that more surprises are to come from such fraudulent company DirecTV. I do not have the $480 to stop the service, if I would have it, I would cancel it right now and stop them taking advantage of people who trust America citizens.
